Pink Hexagon Quilt

A couple of weeks ago I posted some design ideas for this quilt.  To view the post click here.  Well I ended up not using any of the options I was considering.

Most people liked the curved cross hatching in the centre of the pink, but when I actually quilted it I didn’t like it.  The shape was quite unusual and it just didn’t look right.  So I unpicked it.

However, I did like the actual shape itself, so using the curved cross hatching rulers I came up with a curved diamond spiral shape which I think worked really well.

  25. I’m wondering if there is any chance you will see this comment on an old post and respond. Wow!! What a gorgeous quilt - piecing and quilting. I’m wondering how the outside white borders were attached to the hexies?

  26. Hexis cut in half are used to fill in spaces, just like setting triangles on on-point quilts. I'm currently struggling with my third quilt on my new-to-me HQ Simply Sixteen machine, and the gorgeous images that I found on Google for a search on curved crosshatching brought me to your site. Which in turn took me to Janet Sansom's site, where I do believe I'll be placing some orders, once I get the correct format for my Bernina embroidery machine sorted out.
