I am showing two quilts in this post – the same design, but
different fabrics and quilting.
This is my design, called Feathered Rose. Both quilts shown were made by my students, taught
at my local patchwork shop.
The first quilt was made by Margaret, and she had me custom
quilt her quilt with swags and straight lines in the border, and lots of
feathers. This is the second time
Margaret has made this design. The first
one was a present, but this one is for her.
The second quilt was made by Jeanette, and was quilted with
a freehand allover rose design.
You can see other versions of this design, including mine, here.
I have linked to Esther’s Blog for her WOW = WIPs On
Wednesdays.
Lovely, really like the one with the custom quilting, it really makes the quilt come to life.
ReplyDeleteInteresting to see how the 'same quilt' looks with 2 different quilting designs.
ReplyDeleteBoth beautiful - as usual!
Both very different, but both equally beautiful. A great way to see the difference between custom and an allover design. Lovely work Desley.
ReplyDeleteThese are both so beautiful...love the first one with your custom work. It's always stunning.
ReplyDeleteBoth are lovely. How is your house coming along?
ReplyDeleteLove seeing the difference between the two quilts!
ReplyDeleteI like how you design your quilts so there is lots of room to quilt feathers in the background! :)
