Hand appliqué and pieced, this beautiful quilt was made by
Jenny as a present for a friend's granddaughter for her 21st birthday.
Jenny worked solidly on this quilt, sometimes over ten hours a day, starting it in October 2011, and finishing it in May this year, which I think is a tremendous effort.
I echo quilted around the appliqué, and I really like the
effect in the centre of the quilt. In the
appliqué border I quilted some leaves in the larger areas as well to create
some interest. The cream border was just
perfect for feathers.
What a stunning quilt! Those borders were made with you in mind! Aren't the colours wonderful.

ReplyDeleteJenny created a beautiful appliqued quilt and I think she made that cream border just for you to feather!! I really like how you spiraled your echo design between the appliqued blocks to keep it continuous, genius!
