This gorgeous quilt was made by Gail, and of course I wanted
to quilt feathers on it. I really like
Gail’s fabric choices with the dark red for the points of the stars giving it a
strong focus.
I quilted straight lines on the main point of the star to
give some contrast to the curved feathers and background fill.
The back shows the quilting beautifully.
I have linked with Esther's Blog.
So pretty! I'm going to have to quilt my feathered star eventually, so I love seeing your ideas--but I will need lots of practice!!
ReplyDeleteThe feathered star has always been on of my favorite blocks and never thought if making it large and the center of a quilt like that! Gorgeous quilting as usual! :)

ReplyDeleteStunningly beautiful quilting! Very impressive. You are an excellent freehand quilter. How long did it take for you to become this level of perfection? Do you keep track of how much time it takes to complete a project this size? Thanks for sharing your photos. (celiaquilts2@gmail.com)
