Pretty Fabric and Feathers

Soft and pretty with gorgeous fabrics, this quilt was made by Olga.  It is a Julie Wallace design.

Olga wanted the triangles ditch stitched, and we decided on lots of feathers for the remainder of the quilt.

The border was a border print fabric, so I stitched along the print line to give the appearance of two borders and quilted different designs in each.

A Quilt for a Wedding

Janet made this classic quilt for her daughter as a wedding present.

The wedding was the weekend just past, and luckily the weather was good.  We have been having some really hot days over the past few weeks, and we have another hot day forecast for tomorrow.

I quilted an allover freehand feather design like I did on Barb’s quilt last year.  It shows beautifully on the plan fabric, and gives the quilt lovely texture.

I linked this post to Esther's WIPs on Wednesdays.

Two of Janet’s Embroidery Quilts

Two more embroidery quilts by Janet Sansom that I quilted last year.

I especially like this quilt, and had a lot of fun quilting in the plain areas around the embroidery.

This one is soft and pretty, and I quilted feathers between the embroidery and flowers and leaves in the centre.

Liberty Fabric Quilt

This lovely traditional quilt made from Liberty fabrics was pieced by Edwina.

I quilted a feather in the centre of the plain fabric, and small meandering around which made all the Liberty fabrics pop.
