A Week of Quilts – Bonus Day Eight

This is one of Michelle Yeo’s quilts.  We debated custom quilting this quilt, but decided on an intense freehand allover feather design.

I like how the feathers show in the plain areas but don’t distract from the complexity of Michelle’s design.

A Week of Quilts – Day Seven

Janet asked me to quilt a freehand allover ivy leaf design on her quilt.

The quilting shows beautifully on the plain back.

I hope you have enjoyed my week of quilts.  I have a Bonus Day 8 coming tomorrow.

A Week of Quilts – Day Six

This gorgeous appliqué quilt belongs to Judy.  It was a big ‘0’ birthday present from her friendship group – the world wide wanderers.  What a special gift!

The large area in the middle of the quilt screamed for feathers. I also quilted flowers, swirls and a background fill of pebbles to make the appliqué pop.

A Week of Quilts – Day Five

I love the colours of Carole’s quilt which she bought as a kit.

I quilted a freehand allover leaf design on it which gives it a lovely texture.

A Week of Quilts – Day Four

One of Janet Sansom’s striking embroidery designs.  I like the border fabric, and I think it frames the embroideries beautifully.

I quilted feathers on the setting triangles and borders and outlined the embroidery.

A Week of Quilts – Day Three

This quilt belongs to Lois.  It is her version of my pattern Cherry Chocolate which she did in a class with me.  I love the soft fabric choices Lois made.

I quilted a freehand allover leaf pattern on the quilt.

A Week of Quilts – Day Two

This is Carolyn’s cute appliqué owl quilt.

I quilted small curls as a background fill and stars and loops on the border and sashing.

A Week of Quilts – Day One

I have been taking photos of some of the quilts I have been doing, but not posting them, so I have decided to post a quilt a day for a week to catch up.

This is Robyn’s second version of this quilt.  Her first was in greens and blues and you can see it by clicking here.

Robyn asked that I quilt them both the same way.

The back looks lovely too.
