William Morris Meets McTavishing

This is Noelene’s William Morris appliqué quilt.  She didn’t want the quilting to dominate and asked me to McTavish the background to give it texture.  Noelene’s background fabric was gloriously rich, which unfortunately doesn’t show as well in the photos as it looks in real life.
