Princess Theatre Ceiling

A couple of weekend ago we took my nephew to see Elmo live on stage at the Princess Theatre.  Of course I couldn’t resist a photo of the ceiling to add to my collection.

Athenaeum Theatre

A couple of weeks back Paul and I went to see DUMPED! The musical at the Athenaeum Theatre. I couldn’t resist taking a photo of the ceiling to add to my collection.

Regent Theatre

It seems to be becoming a habit that I am posting photos of ceilings……

Sunday night we saw Love Never Dies - Andrew Lloyd Webber sequel to Phantom of the Opera.  It was very good, and the sets and costumes were fantastic.

But I couldn’t resist taking a photo of the ceiling of the Regent Theatre.

Simple Design, But Oh So Effective

I have been really busy lately with quilting as well as personal and family commitments.  But I have a couple of quilts I’ve completed recently to show you once I organise the photos.

The fabrics Marion chose for her quilt are not normally fabrics that I am drawn to, but I just love this quilt.  I think it is such a simple but effective design; plus the fabrics themselves and how Marion has placed them looks stunning.

Marion wanted to keep the quilting really simple, so we chose an open loop pattern that doesn’t distract from her fabrics, and gives a lovely soft finish.

 

Last Friday night Paul and I went to see the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra do Symphonic Abba at the Melbourne Town Hall.  It was a great night, and the vocal ensemble – Rajaton were really good.  I love the ceiling at the Town Hall and couldn’t resist taking a photo.

Australasian Quilt Convention

For the past four days the Australasian Quilt Convention has been on in Melbourne.

Paul and I volunteered as helpers to take down the quilt show (which is hard work, but something we both enjoy). 

We arrived a bit early so we could have a look, and there were some gorgeous quilts.  Each state guild selects a number of quilts from their yearly show to display at the convention, and I was honoured to have my quilt Cherry Chocolate hung.

 

I love the ceiling of the Royal Exhibition Building.
