I was very excited when Michelle Yeo brought me this quilt. She gave me artistic freedom so long as there were lots of feathers.
The design I quilted in the plain diamonds came partly to me in a dream. I often dream about the quilts I am working on, or quilts that inspire me that I am about to start. So I can say I take my work to bed with me.
I like how the back shows the quilting too. You can see all the ditch stitching I did. Not one of the points was cut off – Michelle’s piecing was perfect.
I have linked to Esther’s Blog for her WOW = WIPs On Wednesdays.
STUNNING!!!!!!!!!!!!

ReplyDeleteGorgeous quilt, Desley! I can imagine the time needed for piecing such a quilt. Your quilting is perfect!
ReplyDeletePerfectly lovely perfect piecing and perfect quilting. Those feathers may well inspire more feathered dreams for more quilters! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful quilting! I need to find out what you eat before you go to bed. I could use some of that inspiration.
ReplyDeleteJust love all those feathers!
ReplyDeleteThis is so lovely--just incredible! Could I ask, what thread do you use--is it a white--I am very slowly making a similar quilt, but am struggling with how it would be quilted and what to use on the back vs. thread color choices. Do you change colors? (I cannot see the actual threads in the photo, but it looks wonderful!)
