Two Applique Quilts

Both of these applique quilts were designed by Jill Gray of Peppertree House Designs.

I quilted the blue one for Connie recently.  The quilting design continuing the leaves into the borders was included in the pattern.  Connie marked the quilting design onto the border lightly in pencil for me to follow.

All the seams were ditch stitched and the applique outlined.

The pink applique quilt belongs to Beryl.  I quilted it with  background fill of small curls, and feathers in the border.

A Quilter's Quilt

Sharon (who made the quilt in my previous post) brought me this quilt more recently and I really loved the fabric in the centre.

This saying one is my favourite.  I am lucky my husband loves to cook and does most of it.

I quilted this with an allover freehand leaves and loops design.

Blue Nine Patch Quilt

This traditional quilt in soft blues belongs to Sharon and it also is another one I quilted last year.  It is designed by Sandra Boyle.

The batting was hobbs polydown and Sharon wanted the quilting to be light so it was soft and a little puffy.

I ditch stitched the blocks and quilted a feather wreath in the plain blocks.

Blue Round Robin Quilt

This is a Round Robin quilt from London Quilters brought to me by Judy last year.  (I am am sorting though some old photos).

I like how the colours in the centre really draw the eye.

I quilted it with feathers, CCs, pebbles and a lot of ditch stitching.

Lone Star Quilt - Number Two

I also quilted this Lone Star quilt last year, made by Leanne.  I liked this Lone Star variation as it gave me interesting areas to quilt.

Lone Star Quilt - Number One

I quilted this Lone Star quilt last year, and have only just got around to posting it.  It was made by Claire, and she gave me free reign to quilt it however I liked.

Because the green background areas were so large, I broke them up into smaller areas like I was adding borders around the quilt.  I CCed the diamonds on the star.

Circles and Feathers

I am a bit of a sucker for reproduction fabrics, and love the fabrics in Alita’s quilt.

Quilted with feathers, continuous curves, and a background fill of small curls.
